The British Tailed Araucana is a breed of chicken originating in Chile, and was standardised in Scotland during the 1930s by George Malcolm.〔(The Araucana Poultry Club of Great Britain )〕 The breed is known for its blue, or sometimes green, eggs. They should not be confused with the Rumpless Tufted Araucana, North American varieties of Araucana, Ameraucana, and Easter Egger.〔 ==Characteristics== British Tailed Araucanas are said to be active and alert yet not flighty. With its strong wings, the breed is a good flyer. Broodiness depends upon strain. The birds have a small crest, along with a beard and muffs which conceal their earlobes. The male weight is , and hens weigh . As its name states, the British Tailed Araucana should not be rumpless (lacking the Parson's Nose).
